July continues

Hound Dog Taylor's Hand "...Seattle's secret weapon against the tech squares and yuppie droolers! Jeffery Taylor (Climax Golden Twins) spins tall 6-string tales with his guitar and the crowd bows down before an ascended master. Vets of the NW improv-wars, Mark Ostrowski, and John Seman unleash a barrage of sounds via drums and stand-up bass that toss genres like dirty underwear, leaving the inner ear dizzy and thirsting for more...lots more. It's equal parts groovy, LOUD, and out there for more than just a minute. Live, improvised chanteys for squirming larvae everywhere..." - Eidertown Records

Shoup - Kelley - Campbell Debut performance by this sax, trumpet, percussion trio which has been woodshedding in private for a year before unleashing it's squirrelly, post-harmolodics upon the public. They have a quartet LP with Bill Nace forthcoming on Open Mouth Records.

Dave Webb "Walking into Vermillion last night to check out Table & Chairs’ improv monthly, I was instantly riveted by a longhaired dude seated in the back bar area, playing his Gibson Firebird to a sparse, rapt crowd. It was Dave Webb, guitarist for 'technical metal' band Spacebag, ex-member of the phenomenal Seattle heavy-rock mavericks Girth and Wah Wah Exit Wound. He was in the midst of an emotionally wrenching display of guitar virtuosity that brought to mind the late Funkadelic axe master Eddie Hazel. Webb’s rapid, graceful fingerings and slides evoked a beautiful, lachrymose solitude. There were also passages of sweet, baroque balladry of Hendrixian poignancy and dexterity (think 'Little Wing') and an aching allusion to 'My Favorite Things.'" – The Stranger, 10/9/14
